keeping things from childhood?

I'm just wondering how many other people have toys, clothes, or whatever leftover from their childhood.
I still have my security blanket. I've kept it in good shape, washing it every couple weeks. I also have keys to the first house I lived in, though they were not mine and I'm sure they wouldn't work today.
What about you guys?

i don't have anything from my childhood but i have a beautiful doll from my mom's. she passed it on to mte, and i still have it. she's the size and weight of a new baby and has a glass head. my mom would be in her 90s had she lived.

That doll might be worth something today. My mom had one too, but I don't know whatever happened to it.

I don't have anything from my childhood. I remember once in my late teens I was feeling nostalgic and went looking for my Barbie dolls and all their clothes only to find out that my grandmother had given all that stuff away without even asking me. Needless to say I was very upset.

My parents kept all the toys, Barbies, and all that stuff from my sister's and my childhood so that we could pass them down to our own children. I haven't seen the stuff in years, but I know they have it stored away somewhere.

I don't have anything from childhood, and I'm proud to say that. things that are significant are so on their own, without me having to physically be/stay attached to them.

i have several things. . we have a bedroom set up for our nieces and it's all done in strawberry shortcake stuff from when i was little. hte sink and stove, cabinet, toybox, dolls, and other strawberry short cake toys. also have my first teddy, first dress, my wooden baby cradle for my dolls, my first cabbage patch kid, first little horse on wheels, tooth pillow and matching blanket. i think it's awesome my mom kept this stuff for us. my nieces enjoy it now too!

Shea, that's awesome. I don't know what possessed my grandmother to give my stuff away. In addition to my dolls, she even gave away a school jacket because she didn't think I wore it often enough. It had my name embroidered in it, and I have no idea who else would have wanted it. My mom was just as mad as I was because she did these things without asking either one of us.

I would have kept more from my childhood, but much of it got burned in a house fire we had when I was 10. But I know there were toys I would have kept for nestalgic reasons, or to maybe pass on to the children of friends, since I don't have children of my own, and don't plan to.

I do, however, have one doll that survived the fire because it wasn't in the house at the time. It's still at the house where I grew up, but when I visit home, I'll sometimes take it down and look at it. Even though I go for ages without seeing it, some weird part of me likes knowing it's there, and taking it out to look at every once in a great while.

libra, that doll is probably worth money but the memmories are much more important. when my dad died we got rid of everything in his house. memmories are much more important to me than are things. the only reason i have the doll is that he gave it to me. my son has a gi joe that was my dad's. believe it or now, he loved those dolls. when the men landed on the moon, they made a special eddition gi joe astronaut. my dad got one and had it in his work shop for years.

I agree that memories are worth more than things. I wouldn't sell anything of my mother's or father's if I had anything worth selling for that reason.

I have tons of stuff from my childhood, more for nestalgic purposes than anything else. Plus, if my brother ever has any kids or anything, they can come over to my place and play with my stuff. But I have toys, blankets, books, tapes, stuffed animals, and a couple of teddybears. I like to take my stuff out and play with it, as well.
Take Care,
Dawnielle

I have nothing but the memories.

I thought I had nothing, but recently learned of a couple things I'll inherit once the parents pass on. Yes, that is a weird topic and my parents were, to my mind anyway, rather brave to bring it up. It's several things actually, that my grandmother got from Africa in the 60s, that we boys had hanging in our bedroom:
an African spear and shield, and the hide and horns of an Impala which I believe is like some sort of small deer.
Those are pretty fine, and I'm quite sure wherever I'm living at that time, the man cave will be a better place with them hanging in it.

I've got my first ever battery operated (as I think they all were) FisherPrice tape recorder, my cabbage Patch Kid and My Child, my carebear plus a few other dolls and toys that light up (cos I always loved them since I could see them).
I also have my recorder from school and still play it. :)
